We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Digital Engineering team.  

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical input in software projects in line with WorkCover Queensland’s software engineering practices.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will: 

  • Provide expert input into software projects and uphold best practice coding standards. 

  • Lead small-scale projects with a focus on secure, scalable, and cloud-native solutions. 

  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. 

  • Drive innovation by shaping API-first strategies and reducing technical debt. 

  • Collaborate with architecture and DevOps teams to ensure modern, reliable solutions. 

A bit about you: 

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering at enterprise scale 

  • Expertise in Java, Git and Spring Boot 

  • Experence in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. 

  • Strong analytical, tracing and debugging skills  

  • Familiarity with Cloud platforms, Kubernetes and Containers 

  • Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
