WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.
The Opportunity
In this rewarding role, you'll manage a portfolio of workers' compensation claims, providing exceptional service to injured workers, employers, and healthcare providers. Based from our modern Brisbane CBD office, you'll collaborate with a dynamic team committed to achieving positive outcomes.
- Own a portfolio of accepted claims for customers across all industries in relation to treatment recovery and return to work needs by monitoring risk and identifying interventions required to influence optimal claim outcomes
- Gather and analyse information to support a worker’s ongoing treatment and return to work following claim acceptance
- Develop and maintain rehabilitation and return to work plans in line with workers’ needs, treatment requirements and legislation
- Ensure liability decisions are made on claims in line with legislative requirements as needed
About You
You’re a proactive communicator who thrives in phone-based interactions. Healthcare experience, such as a practice manager, nurse, physiotherapist or similar, along with insurance experience, would be advantageous but is not essential. You’ll succeed in this role if you:
- Have exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage high-volume caseloads
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess claim outcomes, proactively mitigating risks and impacts
- Communicate confidently and enjoy building positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including injured workers, employers and medical professionals
- Understand medical terminology and healthcare processes (preferred)
- Have experience in insurance or workers’ compensation environments (advantageous)
