The Opportunity  

At WorkCover Queensland, technology plays a critical role in supporting better outcomes for Queensland workers and employers. As a Senior Integration Engineer, you'll help shape the integration capabilities that connect our systems, applications and digital services, enabling secure, reliable and seamless experiences across the organisation.  

Working within our Shared Platforms team, you'll provide hands-on technical leadership in the design, development and optimisation of cloud-native integration solutions. You'll work closely with architects, engineers and stakeholders to deliver scalable and resilient solutions that support both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.  

This is an opportunity to influence the future of WorkCover's integration platform, helping drive an API-first approach, improve engineering practices and accelerate the adoption of modern cloud technologies. Along the way, you'll mentor other engineers, champion continuous improvement and contribute to a culture that values learning, collaboration and innovation 

Key areas of focus include: 

• Designing, developing and supporting integration solutions using Azure Integration Services including Logic Apps, Function Apps, API Management and Service Bus 

• Delivering secure, scalable and reliable integration solutions aligned with architectural and security standards.  

• Supporting WorkCover's API-first strategy through the design of reusable, well-documented APIs and integration patterns.  

• Driving engineering excellence through modern DevOps, automation and CI/CD practices.  

• Contributing to platform maturity, operational resilience and continuous improvement initiatives.  

• Providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and fostering a collaborative engineering culture. 

About You  

You're a technically strong engineer who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and building solutions that create meaningful business value. You bring a balance of technical depth, curiosity and pragmatism, and you're motivated by the opportunity to improve platforms, uplift capability and contribute to better outcomes across the organisation.  

To be successful in this role, you'll bring: 

• Significant experience designing, implementing and supporting Azure-based integration solutions in complex enterprise environments.  

• Deep knowledge of Azure Integration Services, API design, integration patterns and cloud-native technologies.  

• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automation and modern software delivery practices.  

• Strong understanding of API security, OAuth 2.0 and secure-by-design principles.  

• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and guide teams through the delivery of complex solutions.  

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical outcomes.  

• A passion for mentoring others and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
