As our Safety and Wellbeing Specialist, you'll play a hands-on role in creating and maintaining a safe, healthy and supportive workplace. Working closely with leaders across the business, you'll provide specialist WHS advice, lead wellbeing initiatives and help drive a proactive safety culture through practical risk management, education and continuous improvement.
This is a broad and varied role that combines operational and strategic responsibilities. You'll develop and deliver the annual wellbeing program, implement the ongoing management of the organisation's safety management system, and partner with the RTW and Rehabilitation Specialist on injury management and recovery-at-work matters. You'll also be involved in incident and hazard management, including the investigation of reportable and notifiable incidents, psychosocial risk assessments and the implementation of effective corrective actions.
In addition, you'll oversee key WHS governance activities such as emergency management planning, , lead the WHS committee coordination, first aid governance and WHS registers. Using data and insights from incidents, hazards, wellbeing initiatives and claims, you'll identify trends, present Board and ELT reporting and recommend practical solutions that strengthen organisational capability, compliance and employee wellbeing outcomes.
You're an experienced WHS professional who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with practical, day-to-day safety management. You bring strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, risk management and contemporary wellbeing practices, and are confident providing specialist advice across a diverse range of safety, wellbeing and injury management matters.
You'll have demonstrated experience managing complex incidents and investigations, implementing effective controls, and supporting safety management systems, ideally within an ISO 45001 and/or ISO 45003 environment. Experience working with psychosocial risks, psychological injury management, emergency management, wellbeing programs and recovery-at-work practices will be highly regarded.
Just as importantly, you're a collaborative and trusted advisor who builds strong relationships across all levels of an organisation. You have excellent communication and coaching skills, can influence positive safety outcomes, and are comfortable analysing data to identify trends, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement. Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS, Health Sciences, Psychology, Human Resources or a related discipline are essential, while specialist certifications such as WHSO, Fire Safety Advisor or similar will be highly regarded.
