The Opportunity
As a Workplace Relations Specialist, you'll partner with leaders across the organisation to navigate complex workplace relations matters, balancing legislative compliance, employee experience and organisational outcomes. You'll manage workplace relations matters from end to end, including workplace investigations, performance and conduct matters, disciplinary action, non-work-related illness and injury matters and organisational change activities.
You'll prepare high-quality briefing papers, reports and defensible correspondence, represent WorkCover in industrial tribunals, contribute to certified agreement implementation and support the ongoing development of workplace relations frameworks and policies. Working within a collaborative team of Specialists, you'll deliver quality outcomes while managing risk and maintaining positive employee and stakeholder relationships.
About You
You're a confident and experienced workplace relations professional who enjoys solving complex people challenges and partnering with leaders to achieve balanced, practical and compliant outcomes. You combine strong technical expertise with sound judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities without compromising quality or attention to detail. You're proactive, comfortable working through ambiguity and confident taking ownership of complex matters.
You'll bring:
- Extensive experience in workplace relations / employee relations / industrial relations.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Awards and Certified Agreements.
- Experience managing complex cases, investigations and workplace disputes.
- Proven ability to prepare high-quality briefing papers, reports and correspondence.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience working with unions and employee representatives.
- The ability to balance commercial outcomes, legislative compliance and employee experience.
- Experience representing organisations before industrial tribunals will be highly regarded.
- Queensland public sector or other highly unionised experience will be advantageous.
