WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.
The Opportunity
At WorkCover Queensland, we're building the data foundations that will support the next phase of our transformation. As Data Analytics Manager, you'll play a critical role in shaping and leading our enterprise data engineering capability, ensuring trusted, scalable and reusable data products are available to drive better decisions across the organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Data, you'll own the data engineering strategy and roadmap, leading the design and delivery of data models, transformations and curated data assets that power reporting, analytics and future data innovation. You'll work closely with architecture, platform, security and business stakeholders to establish modern engineering practices and build a capability that scales with organisational demand.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape a growing Data Office from the ground up, influence enterprise-wide data outcomes and leave a lasting impact on how data is managed, consumed and trusted across WorkCover Queensland.
About You
You're a hands-on data leader who combines strong technical expertise with a strategic mindset. You enjoy building capability, improving ways of working and delivering data solutions that create genuine business value.
You'll bring experience leading data engineering functions within complex environments, with a strong understanding of modern data platforms, data modelling, transformation pipelines and scalable data product delivery.
You'll also have:
- Strong expertise in data engineering, data modelling and data transformation using modern cloud-based technologies and platforms.
- Experience establishing engineering best practices across automation, testing, deployment, monitoring and operational support.
- Experience leading and developing technical teams, creating an environment where people can grow, perform at their best and deliver high-quality outcomes
- A track record of building and maturing data capabilities, balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term sustainability.
- The ability to work effectively across platform, architecture, security and business teams to deliver enterprise outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
- A pragmatic and forward-thinking approach, with sound judgement and a focus on delivering high-quality, trusted data solutions.
Most importantly, you'll be excited by the opportunity to build something meaningful—creating the data products, engineering practices and foundations that will enable WorkCover Queensland to become a more data-driven organisation.
