WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.

The Opportunity

Data is becoming increasingly central to how WorkCover Queensland delivers better outcomes for workers, employers and our community. As Data Partner Lead, you'll play a key role in ensuring the right data opportunities are identified, shaped and prioritised to drive meaningful business impact.

Reporting to the Head of Data, you'll partner with senior leaders and major transformation initiatives to understand strategic objectives, uncover opportunities and translate business challenges into clear, actionable data requirements. Rather than waiting for projects to arrive, you'll engage early, helping shape the demand that drives our data agenda.

This is a highly influential role where you'll connect business priorities with data capabilities across governance, engineering, reporting and insights. You'll help embed a smarter, more data-informed way of working while contributing to a significant organisational transformation program.

About You

You're a strategic relationship builder who enjoys working in ambiguity, asking the right questions and helping stakeholders turn ideas into outcomes. You know how to bring people together, influence decision-making and create clarity where others see complexity

You'll bring experience in data partnering, business partnering, demand management or a similar role where you've worked closely with senior stakeholders to shape priorities and deliver value.

You'll also have:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience translating business challenges into clear, prioritised requirements and opportunities.
  • A strong understanding of the full data value chain, from governance and data management through to data delivery, analytics, reporting and insight generation, and how each element contributes to business outcomes.
  • The ability to navigate between business and technical teams, simplifying complex concepts and facilitating productive conversations.
  • A curious, commercially minded approach and sound judgement when balancing value, risk and competing priorities.

Most importantly, you'll be energised by partnering with the business to unlock the value of data and influence outcomes that make a real difference across WorkCover Queensland.
