Reporting to the Manager, Governance and Innovation, the Procurement Governance Innovation Lead plays a central role in shaping how WorkCover sources and manages its provider network — directly enabling our vision to be the best workers' compensation insurer in Australia. You'll guide, coach, and support team members to deliver outcomes that drive customer advocacy, while acting as a trusted advisor on complex and high-risk procurements across the organisation.

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of WorkCover's procurement governance framework, ensuring alignment with the Queensland Procurement Policy, relevant legislation, and whole-of-government requirements
  • Provide strategic advice to Executive Leadership on procurement risk, compliance, and policy direction, including managing assurance activities, audits, and issue management
  • Drive innovation across the procurement lifecycle, including the adoption of digital, data, and AI-enabled solutions to lift capability and efficiency
  • Embed probity, ethical procurement, and conflict of interest management practices, and build procurement capability through training, coaching, and governance support organisation-wide

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience leading procurement governance, policy development, or compliance frameworks within a complex organisation
  • Sound working knowledge of the Queensland Procurement Policy and relevant legislative requirements
  • Proven ability to provide credible strategic advice to senior stakeholders on procurement risk and probity
  • Experience driving process improvement, including an understanding of how digital and data solutions can modernise procurement practice
  • Strong coaching and people development skills, with a track record of fostering accountability within a team
  • Tertiary qualification in procurement, business, law, or a related discipline
