WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Desktop Support Manager, the SOE Specialist supports the delivery and continual improvement of WorkCover’s Standard Operating Environment (SOE) and endpoint management capabilities. Working closely with the Senior SOE Engineer, you’ll help deliver a secure, reliable and consistent workplace technology experience across the organisation.
This role is hands‑on and delivery focused, supporting core components of our Microsoft workplace environment. You’ll implement and maintain SOE configurations across Microsoft 365, Entra and Intune, support the Windows 11 uplift, and assist with Autopilot provisioning to ensure smooth device builds and user onboarding.
You’ll also contribute to application packaging and deployment, endpoint security controls, automation and remediation, and day‑to‑day incident resolution. Through proactive monitoring, platform hygiene and continuous improvement, you’ll help ensure our endpoint environment remains compliant, resilient and fit for purpose.
About You:
You bring solid experience supporting enterprise endpoint environments, with a strong focus on stability, security and user experience. You’ll also bring:
- Experience supporting Intune, Entra and Microsoft 365 endpoint configurations in line with established SOE standards.
- Hands-on experience delivering application control in alignment with Security and Senior SOE guidance, including Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) and AppLocker. This includes policy testing through pilot rings, deployment support, troubleshooting application blocks, managing whitelisting requests, and maintaining supporting documentation and runbooks.
- Proven capability in Intune application packaging and deployment (Win32 / PSADT), including testing, pilot releases and remediation activities.
- Strong experience supporting Windows 10/11 SOE, Windows Autopilot and post-deployment troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
- Solid working knowledge of endpoint security and application control, with the ability to diagnose and resolve deployment or access issues.
- Experience developing or supporting PowerShell-based automation and remediation solutions.
- Demonstrated incident and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement to identify and escalate systemic risks to the Senior SOE Engineer.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to document technical solutions and contribute to operational readiness.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, with postgraduate qualifications and relevant industry certifications highly regarded, alongside demonstrated experience in endpoint support or engineering roles within complex enterprise environments.
