Building WorkCover’s Data Future
As part of this transformation, WorkCover is establishing a new Data Office to uplift data maturity across the organisation. This collaborative, customer centric and outcomes focused function brings together specialist leads across governance and quality, working as one integrated team.
Moving away from a traditional centralised model, the Data Office operates through partnership and collaboration, embedding with business and delivery teams to enable trusted, high quality data that supports both business as usual excellence and future capability.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Data Office, the Lead, Data Office Quality is accountable for ensuring WorkCover’s data is trusted, fit for purpose and aligned to organisational goals.
As the organisation’s data quality authority, you set direction, provide expert guidance and influence how quality is embedded throughout the data lifecycle. You work across business units and transformation teams to uplift data maturity, enable confident decision making and support WorkCover’s move towards a more reliable, future ready data ecosystem.
This role exists to build confidence in data, reduce risk and ensure quality is not an afterthought, but an embedded capability across the organisation.
In this role you will:
- Lead day to day data quality operations, ensuring reliable and trusted data across transformation initiatives.
- Define, embed and maintain data quality standards, frameworks and controls.
- Act as the central escalation point for data quality issues, risks and exceptions.
- Monitor, profile and report on data quality, identifying trends, risks and systemic issues.
- Lead root cause analysis and guide teams to implement sustainable remediation.
- Partner with delivery teams to ensure data products meet quality standards prior to release.
- Collaborate with business, analytics and transformation teams to drive consistent quality outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement and uplift data quality maturity across the organisation.
About You
You are an experienced data quality leader with a strong transformation mindset and a passion for building confidence in data. You thrive on collaboration, bring structure to complexity and influence outcomes through expertise and engagement. You bring:
- Extensive experience leading data quality in complex or regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of data quality frameworks, governance, privacy and regulatory controls.
- Proven ability to diagnose issues and deliver sustainable remediation.
- Confidence embedding quality practices into BAU operations and transformation initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non technical audiences.
- A collaborative, coaching leadership style with a continuous improvement mindset.
