What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, development and embedment of WorkCover’s enterprise compliance framework, policies and obligations management approach from the ground up.
- Partner with senior leaders and the Risk Leadership Team to uplift compliance capability and build organisational awareness.
- Oversee compliance monitoring, reporting, incident management and obligations management, ensuring accurate insights for ELT, the Board and the Risk Committee.
- Build trusted relationships across the business, providing expert, practical and risk‑based compliance advice.
- Strengthen governance practices through continuous improvement initiatives, assessment and assurance frameworks, and proactive identification of emerging obligations.
- Lead, coach and develop the compliance team, creating a safe, inclusive and high‑performing environment.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative compliance leader who can confidently build trusted relationships, navigate senior stakeholders and drive uplift across a complex, regulated environment. You’ll bring strong judgment, a people‑centred approach and the ability to translate compliance requirements into practical, well‑balanced solutions that support good governance and better business decisions.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing and embedding compliance and governance frameworks, policies and obligations management approaches (government or regulated environment experience highly regarded).
- Strong leadership capability with experience developing high‑performing teams and building capability across a function or business.
- Proven ability to influence, educate and partner with senior stakeholders, including ELT and external regulatory bodies.
- Experience delivering compliance monitoring, reporting and incident management processes.
- Strong analytical, communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical guidance.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Risk or related disciplines, with professional memberships (CA ANZ, CPA, IIA, Governance Institute, ACI) desirable.
