We’re introducing an additional Principal Cloud Engineer role to work collaboratively with our existing Principal Cloud Engineer, jointly driving ownership of our Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Together, you will build and evolve the Azure Cloud Foundation that underpins a secure, scalable, and resilient environment for the organisation.
WorkCover is entering an exciting phase of growth and innovation. We’re looking for a Principal Cloud Engineer to take ownership of our Microsoft Azure cloud platform, building and evolving the Azure Cloud Foundation that provides a secure and scalable base for the organisation.
This is a specialist role focused on the full lifecycle of Azure cloud engineering, from architecture and automation to identity, networking, and security. You’ll define platform standards, implement infrastructure-as-code, and embed governance models that underpin all applications and services. The scope includes Azure platform engineering, security, and governance, plus enabling integration and connectivity with AWS for a robust multi-cloud environment.

Own and manage Azure including authentication, identity, user access, networking, and Microsoft stack services.

Ensure interoperability between Azure and AWS environments, maintaining consistency in identity, networking, and security controls.

Minimum 8+ years’ experience delivering the full lifecycle of cloud platforms, from design and build to optimisation and governance, within large-scale, complex enterprise environments.

Deep expertise in Azure cloud engineering, including identity management, networking, and security, complemented by solid working knowledge of AWS.

Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation/CDK) and CI/CD automation.

Proficient in developing infrastructure-as-code solutions and operate in Linux (including Ubuntu) and Windows server environments.
