We're seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team, reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting WorkCover Queensland to deliver outcomes that drive customer advocacy and enable our vision. 

As a strategic finance professional, you'll provide financial expertise to guide decision-making for WorkCover Leaders, deliver high-impact financial modelling, and translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that drive informed decision-making. 
 

You’ll contribute to: 

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes in close collaboration with Business Owners across divisions 

• Conduct monthly financial analysis and prepare reports for the WorkCover Board, executive leadership, and budget managers 

• Deliver regular management and financial performance updates to stakeholders 

• Provide input on business cases, focusing on benefit analysis to aid strategic decision-making 

• Perform detailed historical budget reviews, building strong relationships with budget owners to monitor progress and report performance 

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislation, and internal policies 

• Provide financial management training to budget holders, project managers, and Finance team members 

About you: 

You're a qualified finance professional with proven management accounting experience and strong commercial acumen. You excel at building collaborative relationships, have exceptional analytical skills, and can translate complex financial information into insights that drive business outcomes. 

What you’ll bring:  

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or similar discipline 

• CPA/CA qualification 

• Proven experience in management accounting, ideally within a chartered firm or corporate environment 

• Strong attention to detail with critical and objective thinking abilities 

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial procedures, and auditing standards 

• Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues and drive process improvements 

• Experience within insurance or financial services sector (desirable) 

• Project accounting experience, including monitoring project progress and investigating variances (desirable)
