We’re seeking a seasoned learning design professional who’s ready to shape the future of capability development within our Claims division. This is a rare opportunity to lead the creation of modern, high‑quality learning experiences that genuinely shift capability and confidence across a large, customer‑facing workforce.

As Senior Claims Capability Design Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of our transformation — designing everything from short, sharp digital micro‑learning to immersive workshops, podcasts, webinars, and contemporary assessment tools that meet industry standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain expert knowledge of contemporary adult learning principles and best practice approaches to capability development. 
  • Participate relevant communities of practice to drive the consistent application of contemporary L&D standards
  • Lead the development and maintenance of relevant claims technical capability frameworks and assessment tools, collaborating with the enterprise L&D team to ensure alignment to the enterprise capability framework.  
  • Design, develop and maintain capability solutions to build required technical and claims management capability across customer facing teams, collaborating with technical content owners and the enterprise L&D team to ensure alignment to enterprise capability standards, tools and templates. 
  • Undertake Train the Trainer sessions for facilitators involved in delivering capability solutions, conducting periodic observations to ensure solutions are delivered in alignment with design principles and learning objectives. 
  • Implement the maintenance plan for relevant capability solutions ensuring they are up to date and effective. 
  • Review participant feedback and learning effectiveness measures to continually improve solutions. 
  • Mentor Claims Capability Design Specialists, providing advice and guidance as required. 
  • Provide general advice across the core Claims team for development of ad-hoc or informal capability interventions. 
  • Develop trusted, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide backfill support to the Claims Capability Design Lead as needed and contribute to BAU delivery, continuous improvement initiatives

 

What We’re Looking For

You’re an experienced, forward‑thinking learning designer with a deep understanding of contemporary adult learning, modern curriculum design, and evidence‑based assessment methods. You stay across emerging L&D trends, technologies, and design approaches — and you know how to translate them into practical, engaging solutions that work in a real‑world operational environment.

You’re confident designing end‑to‑end learning experiences across multiple modalities, from digital and self‑paced content to facilitated programs and multimedia learning assets. You bring strong consulting skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to mentor others while maintaining high design standards. Most importantly, you’re driven by creating learning that is modern, meaningful, and measurable — the kind that genuinely lifts capability and supports people to perform at their best.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years building effective capability solutions 
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing capability development solutions that have delivered tangible, measurable business outcomes. 
  • Training qualification in adult education - Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent mandatory).  
  • Tertiary qualification in business or similar discipline highly regarded. 
  • Additional study in learning design, digital learning, or capability development is a strong advantage. 
  • Background in insurance, personal injury, or another regulated, customer facing environment is an advantage ‑facing environment is an advantage
