The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of IT Service Management, the Lead,Technology Resilience is a critical role responsible for strengthening WorkCover’s ability to respond to and recover from disruption across its technology environment.

You will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of disaster recovery (DR) and ICT continuity frameworks across the organisation. You will ensure governance, policies and recovery strategies are aligned to enterprise risk and regulatory requirements, while enabling technology services to remain resilient, secure and recoverable.

The role sits at the intersection of strategy and operations. You will assess and mitigate risk across complex IT systems, coordinate testing and simulation activities, and provide clear, data-driven insights on resilience readiness to senior leaders. You will also play a key role in uplifting organisational capability, partnering across technology and the business to embed best practice and strengthen preparedness over time.

This is an opportunity to work across a broad and complex environment, influencing outcomes at both a strategic and operational level while driving continuous improvement aligned to industry standards, including ISO 22301.

About You

You are a seasoned resilience, disaster recovery or business continuity professional with a strong track record of delivering enterprise outcomes in complex environments.

You bring both strategic capability and practical execution experience and are comfortable working across multiple teams to drive alignment, uplift capability and enhance organisational resilience. You build credibility quickly, communicate with impact, and apply sound judgement to balance risk, business priorities and operational realities.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of risk management methodologies and standards, including ISO 22301
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes across technology and business teams
  • Experience planning and executing disaster recovery testing, simulations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to identify risks and implement pragmatic solutions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to present to senior leaders
  • Highly developed organisational and prioritisation skills in fast-paced environments
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business or a related discipline are required, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
