WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise‑wide transformation designed to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.
We’re seeking an experienced Manager, Reporting & Governance with deep capability in financial systems, enterprise reporting transformation and data governance to lead the modernisation of our finance reporting ecosystem.
You’ll drive the shift from legacy reporting tools to a contemporary, scalable reporting environment, oversee the optimisation of our core Finance ERP system (TechnologyOne), and strengthen the data, governance and systems foundations that enable high‑quality financial insight across WorkCover. You will also partner closely with the centralised Data Office and Data Program to align data, analytics, metadata and governance practices to enterprise standards.
If you’re someone with expertise in reporting, analytics delivery, data governance and finance system transformation — and a passion for solving complex challenges, leading technical teams and building future‑state capability — this is a rare opportunity to redefine how finance insights power decision‑making across WorkCover.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a high‑performing team of reporting specialists and systems accountants to deliver timely, accurate and insightful finance reporting aligned to enterprise standards.
- Drive the transition from legacy Qlik Sense reporting tools to a new contemporary, scalable reporting ecosystem.
- Oversee TechnologyOne capability, ensuring enhancements and system changes align with Finance strategy.
- Partner with the Enterprise Data Office and Data Program to embed best‑practice data governance, metadata standards and Modern Data Platform utilisation.
- Establish and maintain reporting, data modelling and analytics standards and governance.
- Champion insights generation and data storytelling.
- Collaborate across Finance, Digital & Technology, system owners and enterprise data teams.
- Lead continuous improvement of reporting processes, governance frameworks and analytics delivery.
- Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure transparent, commercial arrangements.
- Support strategic projects, risk management, budget oversight and Finance leadership activities.
What We're Looking For
You are someone who thrives in complex environments, builds trusted relationships, and brings a balanced blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise and people leadership. You think systemically, communicate with clarity, and are energised by modernising how an organisation uses its data.
As a confident and collaborative leader, you uplift capability, influence outcomes, and deliver future‑ready reporting and governance solutions.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven leadership experience within reporting, analytics, data governance or finance system environments.
- Experience leading reporting ecosystem transitions (e.g., Qlik → Power BI/Tableau or similar).
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data governance, data quality management and metadata standards.
- Hands‑on experience in financial reporting processes, finance data structures and finance systems (ideally TechnologyOne).
- Deep understanding of BI tools, data models, data platforms and enterprise data practices.
- High‑level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to work across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Strong judgment, commercial awareness and capability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance or a related discipline (post‑graduate qualifications highly regarded).
