We’re seeking a proactive and people-focused People Advisor to join our newly established People Services advisory hub. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality HR advice and support across the organisation, connecting with leaders to enable an engaged, capable, and high-performing workforce.

Reporting to the Specialist People Advisor, you’ll play a key role in resolving people matters with empathy and professionalism, ensuring consistent and compliant HR practices, and contributing to a workplace culture built on fairness, respect, and continuous improvement.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide timely and accurate advice to leaders and employees on a broad range of HR and employment matters, including performance, conduct, leave, and policy interpretation
  • Manage and document employee issues (tiers 1–3) with professionalism and discretion, escalating complex matters where appropriate
  • Support the coordination of workplace investigations, including information gathering, documentation, and stakeholder liaison.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders to ensure smooth recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes.
  • Contribute to the consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and frameworks across the organisation.
  • Track and report key people metrics such as turnover, probation completion, and case management trends.
  • Build trusted, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver proactive and solution-focused people support.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture aligned to WorkCover Queensland’s values and People Frameworks.
  • Support the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to transformation priorities within the People Division.

 

About You

You’re an experienced HR Advisor who enjoys delivering practical, high-quality HR solutions. Confident managing a range of employee matters, you bring sound judgment, empathy, and professionalism to every interaction. You thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and supporting a workplace culture grounded in fairness, respect, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong understanding of contemporary HR principles, employment law, and people practices.
  • Ability to provide clear, consistent, and practical advice to leaders and employees.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven experience managing or supporting employee case management and workplace investigations.
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical decision-making, and equitable treatment.
  • Experience delivering effective HR services in a complex or changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks and compliance considerations in day-to-day work.
  • Experience maintaining accurate HR documentation, records, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with HR systems and tools to support efficient and compliant processes.
  • Tertiary qualification (or progress toward qualification) in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
