This is an exciting opportunity to join our Digital and Technology Group as a Service Desk Representative on a fixed term contract. In this role, you’ll support over 1,200 employees across more than 100 applications, ensuring they have the technology and tools they need to deliver for Queensland workers and businesses.
You'll be the first point of contact for our internal customers, ensuring seamless technology experiences that enable our mission-critical work. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where problem-solving meets customer care, contributing directly to our digital evolution.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide first-level technical support via phone, email, and ticketing systems, resolving hardware, software, and network issues
- Log, prioritise, and escalate incidents according to established procedures, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction
- Maintain accurate documentation of all service requests, solutions, and user interactions in the service management system
- Support end-users with password resets, account management, and basic application troubleshooting
- Collaborate with technical teams to identify trends, contribute to knowledge base articles, and continuously improve service delivery
A little bit about you
You are a customer-focused IT professional who thrives on solving problems and delivering excellent service. You’ll bring:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a service desk or IT support environment
- Sound technical knowledge across Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and related enterprise platforms
- Strong troubleshooting skills with computer hardware, desktop, and telephony support
- Experience with ITIL processes and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Awareness of cloud environments (AWS or Azure) is desirable
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of people
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong organisational skills
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while taking ownership of issues through to resolution
