WorkCover Queensland is entering a new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.

An exciting opportunity is available to join our People and Strategy team as a Performance and Remuneration Advisor on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering WorkCover Queensland's performance, remuneration and reward programs. You'll support leaders and People Business Partners across the organisation, providing trusted advice on the performance framework, salary reviews, job evaluation and remuneration governance.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll help coordinate annual performance and remuneration cycles, support job evaluation and role benchmarking activities, analyse workforce data and provide recommendations that support fair, equitable and evidence-based people decisions.

This is a varied role that combines operational delivery with strategic advisory work. One day you may be supporting leaders through the performance review cycle, and the next you could be undertaking remuneration analysis, preparing reports for leadership, or contributing to the development of reward frameworks and people policies.

If you enjoy partnering with stakeholders, solving complex people challenges and using data to influence decision-making, this is an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience across the performance and reward portfolio.

About You
You are a proactive and solutions-focused HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships and helping others navigate complex people matters. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership of your work and are comfortable balancing day-to-day operational priorities with longer-term strategic initiatives. You may have built your career in human resources, remuneration and reward, workforce planning, people analytics, HR advisory, or a related discipline.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring a combination of relevant experience, capability, a willingness to learn, and who can demonstrate strengths in some or all of the following areas:

  • Experience in Human Resources, remuneration, reward, performance management, or a related discipline.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting people processes and partnering with leaders and stakeholders.
  • An understanding of remuneration principles, salary review processes, job evaluation methodologies or a willingness to develop knowledge in these areas.
  • Confidence working with data, HR systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, governance requirements and HR best practice, or the ability to quickly build capability in these areas.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A professional approach, sound judgement, discretion and attention to detail.

We recognise that candidates may not meet every requirement listed above. If you have transferable skills and experience and are excited about the opportunity, we encourage you to apply.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who can build strong relationships, provide trusted advice and help drive fair, consistent and effective people outcomes across the organisation.
