WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.

The Opportunity

Join WorkCover Queensland's Fraud team and play an important role in protecting the integrity of Queensland's workers' compensation scheme. As a Fraud Investigator, you'll manage fraud and non-compliance investigations from referral through to outcome, gathering and assessing evidence, preparing detailed investigation reports and delivering high-quality referrals to the regulator.

Working in a complex and highly sensitive environment, you'll collaborate with internal stakeholders, external agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure investigations are conducted professionally, efficiently and in line with legislative and compliance requirements. You'll also contribute to fraud prevention and risk mitigation initiatives that help strengthen WorkCover's fraud control framework and protect the scheme for Queensland workers and employers.

About You

We're seeking an investigator with experience managing fraud, workplace investigations or insurance claims-related investigations who is looking to further develop their expertise within a dedicated fraud team. You may have gained this experience within an investigative environment where you've managed sensitive matters, gathered and assessed evidence, prepared investigation reports and worked within regulatory or compliance frameworks.

You'll be a strong communicator with excellent written reporting skills, sound judgement, analytical and organisational skills, and a high level of attention to detail. A Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or equivalent investigative qualification will be highly regarded. Most importantly, you'll bring a genuine passion for investigations, the confidence to manage complex stakeholder relationships, and the ability to balance competing priorities while delivering high-quality, defensible outcomes.
