WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.
The Opportunity
Lead the Digital Experience Applications platforms at WorkCover Queensland and play a critical role in delivering technology outcomes that enhance experiences for Queensland workers and employers. Reporting to the Manager, Digital Experience Applications, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of platform specialists, software engineers, platform engineers and QE practitioners, driving platform strategy, delivery and operational excellence.
We're looking for a leader with a strong technical background who can confidently work across both technology and business teams. You'll be comfortable discussing technical challenges and opportunities with engineers, while helping business stakeholders understand the implications and make informed decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coaching, developing and leading a high-performing technical team.
- Owning the platform roadmap, backlog and end-to-end lifecycle, from demand management through to continuous improvement.
- Driving major platform initiatives and business transformation outcomes across key digital experience platforms, including Knowledge Management (Livepro), DXP (Sitecore) and Contact Management (Genesys Cloud).
- Partnering with business stakeholders, architects, technical leads and vendors to prioritise and deliver value.
- Translating complex technical concepts, risks and opportunities into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensuring platform reliability, security, performance, scalability and operational sustainability.
- Managing platform costs, vendor relationships, risk and governance obligations.
This is an opportunity to influence enterprise technology direction while contributing to WorkCover's vision of making a positive difference to people's lives.
About You
You are an experienced technology leader with a proven background leading enterprise-scale platforms in complex environments. You combine strong technical credibility with people leadership, commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement skills and a passion for delivering customer-focused outcomes.
You'll bring:
- Experience leading technology platform delivery and operations at scale, ideally across customer-facing digital experience platforms such as Sitecore, Genesys or similar technologies.
- A proven track record of coaching, developing and leading high-performing technical teams.
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps and product-led environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build trusted relationships across business and technical teams.
- The ability to balance delivery priorities, operational performance, risk and technical health.
- Experience operating within regulated environments.
- A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline.
Most importantly, you're a leader who creates clarity, builds capability and brings people together to deliver outcomes. You're energised by continuous improvement, comfortable making decisions in evolving environments and motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
