The Opportunity
The Business Transition Lead is responsible for ensuring projects and business initiatives are effectively transitioned from delivery into Business as Usual (BAU), enabling operational readiness, change adoption, and sustained value realisation. Acting as the bridge between project and change delivery teams and operational stakeholders, the role embeds new capabilities, establishes ownership, and ensures benefits and performance outcomes are measurable, realised, and sustained over time.
- Partner with senior management to develop and execute transition plans for enterprise projects and define BAU and continuous improvement initiatives
- Act as primary liaison between project/change teams, operational leaders and enabling functions
- Coordinate with other functions to translate business requirements from solution design to service readiness and implementation
- Identify and manage transition and operational risks, issues and dependencies across people, process, technology and data; escalate and recommend corrective actions
- Support senior management by providing practical transition and continuous improvement advice and enabling delivery of BAU outcomes and transformation initiatives
- Ensure operational readiness by maintaining and updating audit-ready documentation to support adoption across the function
About You
- Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in Business or similar discipline
- Qualifications in program or project management, continuous improvement/lean practices or change management
- Demonstrated experience leading the transition of complex initiaties into BAU, with a strong focus on operational readiness and sustainability across people, process, and systems.
- Strong understanding of business processes, with the ability to connect and align initiatives across functions
- Commercially minded with a strong business orientation
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to represent the business long-term for claims impacting projects and drive initiatives through to implementation
- Proven ability to develop and execute plans, balancing ~60% planning and 40% delivery
- Comfortable working autonomously, managing a pipeline of work and driving outcomes independently
- Background in insurance or financial services preferred
