WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.
As a Technology Vendor & Contracts Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how WorkCover Queensland partners with its technology vendors to deliver value, innovation, and strong governance. Reporting to the Senior Manager Technology Vendor Governance, this role leads a small but growing team and oversees a large and complex portfolio of technology contracts and vendors. You’ll work closely with senior technology leaders and executives to ensure vendor engagements are strategically aligned, commercially sound, and delivering measurable outcomes that support our 2030 Strategy.
What You’ll Do
In this influential leadership role, you’ll take ownership of the end‑to‑end technology contract and vendor management function, combining hands‑on operational leadership with strategic impact. You will:
- Lead, coach, and grow a team responsible for technology contract administration and vendor performance management, fostering a high‑performing and inclusive culture
- Oversee the full lifecycle of technology contracts - from procurement and negotiation through to execution, renewal, and performance governance - across a large and diverse vendor portfolio
- Manage high‑value and high‑risk technology contracts, ensuring strong commercial outcomes, compliance, and value for money
- Establish, mature, and continuously improve vendor management and contract governance frameworks, processes, tools, and reporting
- Design and embed vendor performance frameworks, including KPIs, SLAs, dashboards, and regular governance forums
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior technology leaders, including GMs and Heads of Technology, and contribute executive‑level briefings where required
- Partner closely with Digital & Technology, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Architecture teams to enable enterprise‑wide transformation initiatives
- Proactively identify, manage, and escalate contractual, commercial, and vendor‑related risks
- Foster strategic vendor relationships that support innovation, continuous improvement, and long‑term outcomes for WorkCover
What We’re Looking For
You’re a highly experienced Technology Contracts and Vendor Management leader with a strong background in government or regulated environments. You’ll bring:
- Strong working knowledge of QITC (or equivalent Queensland Government frameworks), ideally with 5+ years’ experience
- Proven experience leading end‑to‑end technology contract and vendor management, including high‑value and complex agreements
- Demonstrated capability establishing or maturing a Vendor Management Office (VMO), including governance, processes, and reporting
- People leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and lead high‑performing teams
- Confidence partnering with senior leaders and executives, including contributing to executive‑level briefs
- Strong commercial acumen, sound judgement, and a hands‑on approach to driving value, performance, and compliance
