WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. As part of this transformation, we're building a fresh, modern Capability function and introducing newly created roles that will redefine contemporary learning, coaching, and capability uplift across our Claims division.

We’re seeking an engaging, learner‑focused facilitator who’s passionate about shaping the capability of our claims professionals from their very first day.

The Claims Capability Trainer is a hands‑on role at the heart of our learning experience — where you’ll bring curriculum to life, turn theory into practical skill, and create the kind of training moments that build confidence and competence across our workforce. If you thrive in front of a room, love helping people grow, and want to play a meaningful role in developing both new starters and experienced staff, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact on how we deliver world‑class claims management.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with other Claims Capability Trainers to deliver consistent and effective formal learning programs for new starters in customer-facing roles during their 12 week induction and onboarding experience.
  • Collaborate with the Claims Capability Team Leaders and other Claims Capability Trainers to provide guidance and advice to new starters as they embed their learning through completing on the job activities.
  • Review participant feedback and learning effectiveness measures to identify opportunities to improve delivery of formal programs, providing feedback to the Design team where appropriate.
  • Deliver ongoing development interventions (micro learns, Lunch and Learns, classroom session etc) across customer facing roles to address systemic capability gaps identified though Quality Assurance findings, Claims Coaches feedback, Technical Advice and/or Claims performance reporting.
  • Perform any other activities as required by the Claims Capability Lead to deliver business as usual outcomes and/or continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

You’re a confident, adaptable presenter who knows how to make complex concepts clear, engaging, and relevant for a wide range of learners. You bring energy, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to helping people succeed — whether they’re brand new to the industry or seasoned professionals sharpening their skills. You’re comfortable flexing your facilitation style, experimenting with modern adult‑learning techniques, and investing in your own development to continually elevate your delivery. Most importantly, you create a supportive learning environment where people feel safe to ask questions, build capability, and grow.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in the Workers Compensation or Life Insurance industry mandatory.
  • Experience in a customer facing role in Workers Compensation and injury management highly regarded.
  • Proven track record managing competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven experience of collaborating with and influencing others.
  • Tertiary qualification in business or similar discipline highly regarded.
