About the Opportunity – Manager Technology Performance and Resilience
WorkCover Queensland is undertaking a multi-year transformation to modernise and strengthen the technology that supports workers’ compensation across the state. Reporting to the General Manager of Technology Services and operating as a member of the Technology Services Leadership Team, this role is central to ensuring technology performance, resilience, and governance keep pace with WorkCover’s transformation. The Manager Technology Performance and Resilience plays a critical role in enabling effective return-to-work outcomes for Queensland employers and injured workers by ensuring core technology services are stable, resilient, transparent, and well governed.
You will establish and lead an integrated performance, resilience, risk, and assurance function across Technology Services, delivering clear line-of-sight across operational resilience, disaster recovery, audit readiness, enterprise performance, and financial and risk governance. Your work will provide executives and the board with trusted insight to manage technology risk, performance, and investment decisions. Leading a team of three, this role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, embedding sustainable frameworks, uplifting maturity, and providing clear executive insight to support informed decision-making across a multi-year transformation.
In this role, you will:
- Lead technology performance, resilience, and disaster recovery, managing the Technology Performance and Resilience function and specialist leads to design, test, and report on enterprise resilience, service continuity, and recovery readiness to executive and board forums.
- Own technology risk, audit, and assurance outcomes, overseeing risk management, internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and remediation activities, and providing clear technology risk and assurance reporting to executive leadership and board committees.
- Deliver enterprise technology performance insight, establishing the Technology Services performance framework and delivering KPIs, KRIs, dashboards, and board-ready reporting that identifies trends, risks, and opportunities for operational uplift.
- Lead financial performance and investment insight, managing forecasting, budgeting, vendor spend, and financial governance to support cost optimisation, prioritisation, and informed technology investment decisions.
- Provide strategic leadership and governance support, developing a high-performing team and enabling executive and board decision-making through concise reporting, workforce insight, and trusted strategic advice.
About You
You are an operationally grounded senior leader with deep expertise in technology performance, resilience, governance, and integrated risk and financial management, gained in complex, regulated, and transformational technology environments. You understand the operational realities of technology platforms, service delivery, and disaster recovery, and can translate technical performance and risk data into trusted insights for executive and board decision-making. You thrive in ambiguity, drive compliance and assurance across technology services, and lead teams to embed sustainable, high-performing practices.
You bring:
- Leadership of the Technology Performance and Resilience function, managing a team of three specialist leads to deliver integrated performance, resilience, risk, and governance outcomes across Technology Services.
- Expertise in technology performance, resilience, and disaster recovery, ensuring continuity of critical platforms, driving recovery readiness, and mitigating operational disruption across enterprise systems.
- Proven enterprise performance and reporting skills, translating operational, risk, and financial data into board-ready insights, dashboards, and actionable recommendations to inform executive decisions.
- Commercial and financial acumen within the technology services domain, including budgeting, forecasting, resource costing, and vendor/platform investment decisions to optimise technology performance, operational resilience, and service delivery outcomes.
- Strong governance and assurance capability, applying frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, and ITIL to ensure controlled, compliant, and resilient technology operations.
- Strategic, analytical, and stakeholder-focused mindset, able to interpret complex data, consider macro-environmental and regulatory impacts, and influence across technical teams, executives, and governance forums.
